Summerland
Perfectly tucked into the rolling hills between Penticton and Peachland, Summerland is a gorgeous town with a vibrant community dedicated to bringing the best fruits and grapes to the Okanagan. Just as the name implies, Summerland is exactly that, a place with seemingly endless amounts of summer fun. Wineries, vineyards, orchards, and a little refreshing lake action makes this town one of Okanagan’s most precious gems.
A small-town on the fringe of both Kelowna and Penticton means the best of both worlds. A day-trip to Kelowna is sure to scratch that “big city” itch, while a short trip down to Penticton and Naramata leaves many hiking trails and wineries to be explored.
It’s easy to see yourself living here and watching your family thriving and growing in one of the most beautiful places in Canada. There is a surprising amount of variety of homes and subdivisions available and if you’re looking for a gorgeous, slow-paced paradise, Summerland could be everything you’re looking for.

Why Summerland?
KVR Trail
The Kettle Valley Railroad in Summerland is a testament to the history of the Okanagan, and in fact we have a fully functioning steam locomotive for our community to enjoy.
Take some time to explore the railroad, visit the famous Trout Creek trestle soaring over 200 feet above the ground, or book your very own steam railway experience! Rumour has it that some bandits are planning an “Old West” style Train Robbery… antics and hilarity abound!
Fruit Stands
It’s almost impossible to drive through Summerland without stopping into one of the popular fruits stands to sample fresh produce from the orchard. Be sure to stop in at Granny’s Fruit Stand & Bakery or Blossom Fruit Stand.
Best Wineries
Summerland has a deep history with wine, and it’s evident by all the wineries you pass on the road, not to mention all the wineries that are tucked farther into the mountains! It’s incredible to learn about the differences between our Okanagan wine regions, and after sipping on some of Summerland’s finest you’ll see exactly why our wines are international recognized.
Some of our favourites are: 8th Generation, and Sumac Ridge!
Giant's Head Mountain
Formed from an ancient volcano eruption, Giant’s Head Mountain dominates the Summerland landscape and gives the community a perfect hiking and site-seeing attraction. Parking lots at the top and at the bottom give you some options on the degree of difficulty getting up. Once at the top, you’ll be treated with a full 360° panoramic view of the South Okanagan. Viewing benches and scenic lookouts galore!
You might have figured it out; Giant’s Head Mountain received its name because it really does look like a Giant’s Head! *No giants were harmed in the making of this town*
Ciders & Distilleries
Even better than Grandma used to make (don’t tell her I said that), the quality and taste of Summerland Ciders is astounding. Crisp, refreshing, and ready for a full day at the beach, and somehow getting better each year! And don’t forget about the delicious cocktails that are waiting at Alchemist Distillery. It’s no surprise that our Okanagan orchards produce some of the tastiest fruit flavours you can sip on.
Beaches
Summerland has a total of 5 beaches full of sand to sink your toes into. Lake Okanagan is a massive reason what makes this area so special to live in. Our beaches host a selection of ways to enjoy your day: camping, parks, hiking trails, and of course enough room for our youngsters to run around and play with their friends.
A couple of our favourite beaches: Sun-Oka Beach, and Rotary Beach
Golf
It wouldn’t be a summer paradise without a little golf action. And our long, warm summers make it possible to play well into the seasons. Casual players and seasoned golfers can both benefit from the award-winning courses you’ll find within arms reach of town.
Summerland Golf & Country Club is a championship course that includes a restaurant and golf pro’s to help you dial in your game.
Sumac Ridge Golf & Country Club is the highest-rated short course in BC! A whopping par 28 course is what you’ll find packed with some of the best views to be found in Summerland.
